WE BELIEVE
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; and in the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God. We reverently receive the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and believe them to be the inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who in the beginning “was with God,” and “was God,” that “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness” (1 Peter 2:24).
We believe the Holy Spirit has led us to repent of all sins, and to turn from them, and to obey Christ where He says, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me” (Mark 8:34).
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment of all people. “He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3:36).
We believe that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone, and that good works are the certain fruit of such faith. We therefore offer ourselves for Christian service as a means of expressing our gratitude to Him and to extend His cause.
We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’.
We believe in baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Water baptism is an outward sign of what the Holy Spirit has performed in the heart of the believer. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of His sacrifice in securing our redemption.
We believe that all those who have believed in Jesus together constitute His Church. We believe that this universal Church is manifested in local churches which are to fulfill the Lord’s command to make disciples.
We believe in the personal return and victorious reign of Jesus Christ, who will judge in equity and justice all people who have ever lived giving over those who were unrepentant to eternal condemnation but receiving the redeemed into eternal life.
